ERROR IN GIA MODEL

A coding error in the software that computes Global Isostatic Adjustment (=PGR) was found. Polar wander feedback was accidentally turned off, and so was the rotational feedback. The effect has the spatial pattern of spherical harmonic term (2,1), is less than 2 mm/yr everywhere over the globe, causes less than 0.05 mm/yr in a global sea level rise estimate. We will replace the current GIA fields with corrected ones soon, but we must also replace the GRACE monthly fields that contain these estimates with corrected ones at the same time. We will do all replacements at the same time to maintain consistency. Please check here for updates.
